UNCTAD S-G joins in welcoming UN S-G's Zero Hunger Challenge24 Jun - At the recently concluded Rio+20 sustainable development summit, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on leaders, business, civil society and individuals to step up efforts to end hunger, and launched a Zero Hunger Challenge. UNCTAD and WIPO to establish regular consultation mechanism24 Jun - Recalling the references on technology and intellectual property contained in the Doha Mandate adopted at the conclusion of the UNCTAD XIII ministerial conference in Doha, Qatar on 26 April, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has proposed the establishment of a regular consultation mechanism between the two organizations at the level of Deputy Secretary-General and Deputy Director General to strengthen consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest.
