Corrupt and opaque financial practices deprive resource-rich developing countries of “staggering” amounts of money, UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi said at the opening of the UNCTAD Global Commodities Forum in Geneva on 7 April.
The use of trade remedies – specifically anti-dumping duties and countervailing duties – on renewable energy goods such as solar panels, wind turbines and biofuels, will be among the topics examined by experts at an UNCTAD meeting in Room XXVI, Palais de Nations, on 3–4 April 2014.
