Background to the project
The UNCTAD-ICC project on investment guides and capacity-building for LDCs
was launched in 1998.
This phase, made possible by the financial support of China, Finland, France,
India and Norway, was completed in 2001, with its final publication, An
Investment Guide to Mozambique, appearing in January 2002.
An independent evaluation panel of five members - three of them representing
the international business community - evaluated the pilot phase in 2001 and
strongly endorsed extension of the project to a second phase.
Donors to the second phase include Finland, Italy, Norway, Sweden and UNDP
Cambodia.
The second phase has thus far included six
