The World Investment Forum is a high-level, biennial, multi-stakeholder gathering designed to facilitate dialogue and action on the world’s key emerging investment-related challenges. Its mission is to provide a platform to debate and discuss "investment for development," ultimately to promote investment flows that contribute to sustainable and inclusive development.
With its ties to UN member States, the World Investment Forum is able to bring together a broad coalition of investment stakeholders at the highest level who can influence the global investment landscape.
Past editions of the World Investment Forum brought together thousands of participants from more than 140 countries across the world, including Heads of State, global CEOs, heads of international organizations and civil society. The 2014 Forum was the biggest edition yet, with over 3,000 participants from 150 countries that heard from 300 speakers in 50 events."
The World Investment Forum 2016 takes place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 17–21 July 2016.
