The Gender and Development team in the Office of the Secretary-General discharges three main functions:  

• It carries out the work programme on gender and development, with special emphasis on trade.
• It liaises with Division/ Programmes/ Special Units to mainstream gender in the substantive work of the organization.
• It contributes to a UN-wide gender action plan.

• Enhancing Capacities of the Kingdom of Lesotho to Mainstream Gender in Trade Policy
• Enhancing Capacities of the Republic of Angola to Mainstream Gender in Trade Policy
• Training of women entrepreneurs within the EMPRETEC Programme
• Women in Business Award 2010 and 2012
