Women's Entrepreneurship Development - Knowledge Sharing Platform (ICT4WED)

ICT4WED

ICT4WED is an online community of information and communication technology (ICT) and women's entrepreneurship development (WED) assessment experts and practitioners from the UN system, governments, academia, women entrepreneurs, civil society and other stakeholders in the development community interested in how the ICT dimension is being integrated into WED assessments and the WED assessment working tools and trainings.

ICT4WED was formed by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in March 2013 as part of the ILO/UNCTAD Project on Leveraging ICTs for Support of Women's Entrepreneurship in Developing Countries funded by the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida). As part of the project, the current WED Assessment Framework, Guidelines and Training are being revised to integrate ICTs.

Objectives:

  • To serve as an online working space for the exchange of information and expertise among WED assessors on ICTs and the WED framework, guidelines and training.

  • To serve as a network and e-space for the provision of inputs and e-discussion for the UNCTAD/ILO project on women's entrepreneurship and ICTs aimed at the revision of the WED framework, guidelines and training to integrate ICTs.

ICT4WED has an e-space housed on the WED Platform created by ILO in 2012 to promote information-exchange among women's entrepreneurship specialists, trainers and trainees.

Access to the ICT4WED e-space is for members only.
