UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Module 7 port training delivery in Tanzania in collaboration with University College Cork and Tanzania Ports Authority

The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), in collaboration with UNCTAD and University College Cork, will train 24 of its middle managers on Module 7 of UNCTAD’s TrainForTrade Port Training Programme, “Administrative and Legal Management”.

The module will be delivered by University College Cork, along side with senior port specialists from the local port community, many of whom were successfully trained by UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Port Training Programme in the previous cycle (2009-2011).

At the end of this module, participants will be able to describe the general organisation and understand the rational of the administrative function of the port.  Moreover, they will know the legal basis of the organisation and for the functioning of a port,  the main provisions of regulations for operating and policing a port,  the main rules of public port domain, and rational for having the legal acts for management of the public port domain. 

They will also understand the rational for knowing how to participate and preclude harmful events using risk management and policy-insurance adapted to the needs.
