Together with Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and with the support of IrishAid, UNCTAD/TrainForTrade* will organize a Coaching Workshop and a Dissertation Panel in Male', Maldives. The workshop will train 17 focal points and core instructors of the Port Training Programme of the English-speaking Network member countries (Ghana, Indonesia, Maldives, Namibia and Tanzania) on the TrainForTrade pedagogic methodology.
Furthermore, to promote inter-regional cooperation and programme sustainability, upon the completion of the Coaching Workshop, the focal points and instructors will also participate as jury members in the Dissertation Panel of Maldives Ports Limited – marking the first “exchange” of jury members in the English-speaking Network. Local participants of the “Modern Port Management” course will defend their theses before a panel of international experts from UNCTAD, Port of Cork and other member ports, along with local experts and mentors. Successful participants will obtain UNCTAD’s Modern Port Management Certificate. This final event will represent a successful completion of the second cycle of the Port Training Programme in Maldives.
