The workshop is jointly organized by UNCTAD and the Center for Investment Promotion (CPI) of Mozambique in the framework of the Mozambique One UN project.
The workshop aims to help CPI and other investment-related agencies in Mozambique to improve their capacities of retaining and promoting foreign direct investment (FDI) during the ongoing economic crisis and forthcoming recovery.
Four modules will be delivered by UNCTAD staff and experts:
1. Global FDI trends
2. Investor aftercare service
3. Investor targeting
4. Promotion of export-oriented FDI
Managers from CPI and its provincial offices, officials from relevant ministries, as well as senior managers from international and local companies will participate in the workshop.
Representatives from CPI and the private sector will share their views on relevant topics.
To create synergy, the event will be held back-to-back with a workshop of the UNCTAD Business Linkages Programme, which is also spearheaded by the Division on Investment and Enterprise.
