UNCTAD will organize the first Empowerment Course for National Transit Coordinators in the framework of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
This course aims at:
1) Helping developing and least developed countries to better understand the role and functions of the national transit coordinator, especially in the context of Article 11 of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
2) Training the national transit coordinator to have better knowledge of the international regimes guiding the concept of transit in international trade.
3) Encouraging countries to notify their contact points for their national transit coordinators.
4) Fostering freedom of transit.
This event takes place in the framework of the UK-funded project to assist in the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.
