Under the MENA Programme, UNCTAD is organizing a Regional Training Workshop on Consumer Protection Policy in cooperation with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency.
The main objective of this training workshop is to present, discuss and validate the guidelines on consumer protection agency effectiveness, consumer associations and business engagement for consumer protection. The target audience includes representatives from consumer protection agencies, relevant Ministries, sector regulators, businesses and consumer associations from Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia and State of Palestine.
UNCTAD and the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency will also inaugurate Egypt's Regional Training Centre for Consumer Protection in Cairo on 27 February 2018. The Centre is expected to facilitate trainings on consumer protection in English language for beneficiary countries.
The President of the Egyptian Consumer Protection Agency, the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of Egypt and the Head of Competition and Consumer Policies Branch of UNCTAD will intervene at the inauguration ceremony.
