Launch of the Review of Maritime Transport 2018

03 October 2018

On 3 October, UNCTAD launched the 2018 Annual Review of Maritime Transport (RMT), an UNCTAD’s flagship report published annually since 1968.

Over the years, the RMT emerged as an authoritative source of information and data on maritime transport. It monitors and reports on relevant developments affecting maritime transport at the global level and provides insight into key structural and cyclical factors shaping the sector. Issues covered include international seaborne trade, world fleet, shipping and freight markets, ports as well as the legal and regulatory framework affecting transport and trade. Furthermore, the RMT package features an extensive on-line collection of statistical information and historical time series

As 2018 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the RMT, UNCTAD has launched the RMT50 Jubilee Issue on 3 October 2018. The Jubilee Issue of the RMT features thought-provoking articles to showcase past and current RMT research, analyses and data. It adopts a forward-looking view and explores and identifies relevant topics for inclusion in the future editions of the RMT.
