Having successfully completed the 8 training modules of the UNCTAD/TrainForTrade* Port Training Programme, 18 middle managers from the Namibian port communities will now present and defend their final dissertation before a panel of international and local port experts. Each dissertation analyzes a specific challenge faced by the participants' port communities in their quest to continuously improve the efficiency of the services they provide their customers. Those whose dissertations are judged favorably will be rewarded UNCTAD’s Modern Port Management Certificate. The event will mark the completion of the programme in Namibia, who joined the network for the first time during this second cycle of 2011-2013.
*TrainForTrade is a programme of the Knowledge Sharing, Training and Capacity Development Branch, in the Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD.
