26 November - 06 December 2013
Bogor
, Indonesia

From 25 November to 6 December 2013, 25 middle managers from Indonesian ports will participate in the first two of eight Modules  of UNCTAD's Modern Port Management course. The training is part of the UNCTAD TrainForTrade* Port Training Programme. The event marks the beginning of the third cycle of the programme in Indonesia.

An UNCTAD representative will lead the training along with senior managers from member ports in Indonesia and from Dublin Port Company, one of the programme's port partners. These senior managers have been trained as instructors by UNCTAD.

The major focus of Module 1 is the evolution of international trade and transport, in particular maritime transport. Module 2 focuses on the organization of a port as a system. The other six modules of the course will be delivered in 2014.

*TrainForTrade is a programme of the Human Resources Development Section, Knowledge Sharing, Training and Capacity Development Branch, in the Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD.
