UNCTAD and the Ministry of Finance of Argentina have jointly organized a high-level regional consultative meeting on “Responsible Financing: UNCTAD Principles on Responsible Sovereign Lending and Borrowing” on 19 August 2011 in Buenos Aires.
The objective of the meeting was to review the newly released UNCTAD draft principles and explore possible ways for its implementation.
South American governments participated in this first consultative meeting which presented an occasion to bring together policy makers of the region to discuss the principles, in particular from regional and national perspectives.
