Advisory Mission to Iran on WTO Accession Issues on Agriculture and NAMA

Key Issues

This advisory mission serves as a follow-up to a previous mission to Iran on the main WTO accession issues.

The objective of the mission is to clarify the main challenges at stake in agriculture negotiations and non-agricultural market access (NAMA) and provide assistance to Iran trade officials on the following subjects:

  • NAMA and the various proposed formulas to cut tariffs

  • Domestic support policies in the WTO Agreement on Agriculture (AoA)

  • Compliance with the WTO rules in these two sectors

Participants will include representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Trade.
