Workshop on Multilateral and Regional Negotiations on Environmental Goods and Services

Key Issues

The aim of the workshop is to provide an analysis of negotiation - both multilateral and regional - of trade and environment issues, with a particular emphasis on environmental goods and services.

UNCTAD will be conducting a series of workshops and talks on environmental goods and services as well as the rules and regulations of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and of AMUMA (Acuerdos Multilaterales sobre el Medio Ambiente/ Multilateral agreements on environment)

The event will comprise five sessions:

  • International commercial negotiations on Environmental Services in a multilateral and regional framework

  • Negotiations on Environmental Goods

  • National experience on Environmental Goods and Services

  • Parallel workshops on Services and Goods

  • Results and recommendations

Participants will include the MICIP (Ministerio de Comercio Exterior, Ecuador/Ministry of Foreign Trade, Ecuador), UNCTAD as well as the ICTSD (International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development)
