Advisory Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina on WTO Accession
18 - 19 December 2006
Sarajevo

Key Issues

In the context of its assistance to countries acceding to the WTO, UNCTAD will conduct an advisory mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The activity targets national trade and legal officials from various ministries.

UNCTAD will assist in the preparation and review of various accession-related documents, including: studies to update the legislative work plan; a study on subsidies in agriculture; a study on intellectual property rights; and a round table devoted to services. UNCTAD´s assistance is crucial to ensure that the drafting of these documents respond both to WTO requirements and to national development needs.

Preparations will be made for a second training course in Geneva for the Bosnian and Herzegovinian negotiation team.
