Key Issues

SADC Member States will be meeting for a Trade Negotiating Forum focussing on trade in services.

The objective of the meeting is to discuss developments in the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPA) trade in services negotiations with the EU, to review the framework and next phases for the SADC regional services negotiations, and to discuss the findings and recommendations of a study on the assessment of trade in services in the SADC region.

Participants will include officials from Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, SADC (Southern African Development Community) and UNCTAD Secretariats.

UNCTAD´s assistance to the SADC countries is aimed at supporting these countries´ more effective participation in regional integration and the multilateral trading negotiations.
