Key Issues

wsisITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP are organizing the WSIS Forum 2010 scheduled to be held from 10 to 14 of May 2010 at the ITU Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland.

The Forum offers participants a series of diverse interactions, including high-level debates addressing critical issues to the WSIS implementation and follow-up in multi-stakeholder set-ups, WSIS Action Line facilitation meetings, thematic workshops, and speed-exchanges facilitating networking among the participants.

Further events organized as part of the Forum:

  • Monday, 10 May at 14:30

    UNCTAD, FAO and ITC special session on ICT and Rural Enterprises, held as part of the WSIS Action Line facilitation meetings.

    Field experiences and new practices, will be shared to showcase how ICT can enable rural enterprises to become a means of poverty reduction and sustainable rural development.

  • Monday, 10 May at 16:00

    UNCTAD and ITU event on Partnership on Measuring ICT for Development, on the theme of the monitoring of the WSIS targets.

The WSIS Forum will be followed by the annual session of the Commission on Science and Technology, scheduled between 17 and 21 May 2010.
