The forty-seventh session of the Trade and Development Board will open at 10 a.m. on Monday, 9 October 2000, in Room XX at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
Provisional agenda and organization of work
The provisional agenda for the forty-seventh session was approved at the Consultations of the President on 7 July 2000. The annotated provisional agenda and organization of work will be circulated in document TD/B/47/1. Attention is drawn to item 2 of the provisional agenda: in accordance with paragraph 107(c) of "A Partnership for Growth and Development" (TD/378/Rev.1), a segment for high-level participation will be convened for one day on Thursday, 19 October 2000. The theme for the high-level segment and details of the programme for the event will be issued in due course.
Members of the Board are requested to submit to the Secretary-General of UNCTAD, by Monday, 2 October 2000, the credentials of their representatives and the names of alternate representatives and advisers who will participate in the session.
Other participants (i.e. members of UNCTAD not members of the Board, the specialized agencies, intergovernmental bodies and non-governmental organizations in the General and Special Categories wishing to participate as observers) are requested to inform the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by 2 October 2000 of the names of their representatives.
Upon arrival, participants are requested before entering the Palais des Nations to collect their badge at the UN Security Service, Villa Les Feuillantines, 13 Avenue de la Paix (just opposite the main entrance to the Palais on the Place des Nations). The Security Service is open from 8.00 to 17.00 hrs. (non-stop). It is advisable to come early in order to avoid last minute rushes and delays. Walking from Villa Les Feuillantines to the E-Building of the Palais (Bâtiment E) takes about 10 minutes. Participants are advised to carry a passport or similar identification document on them.
