Harare 1997, focussed on discussions on improving oil trading, risk management and financing practices in Africa´s oil sector.
The conference brought together some 170 bdelegates from 30 African countries, Euroipe and the United States. Also in attendance were key decision makers, ministers from six African countries, major banks and other financing institutions active in oil financing in Africa. Those listed include African Export-Import Bank, BNP, Citibank, Credit Lyonnais, JP Morgan, Merril Lynch, Natwest and Standard Chartered.
Participation in teh second oil trade conference by the banks underlined the strong interest in Africa among the financial community.
