INFOCOMM: Market Information on Agricultural Commodities

INFOCOMM is an extra-budgetary project funded by the Government of France. This multilingual information sharing platform was developed by UNCTAD in 2000 in response to the scarcity of commodity market information in commodity dependent developing countries.

The 2016 version of INFOCOMM disseminates free, objective and up-to-date commodity profiles of 11 selected agricultural products in three languages (English, French, and Spanish): banana, cocoa, coconut, coffee, cotton, gum Arabic, mango, palm oil, pineapple, soy beans, and tea.

Each commodity profile includes updated information and detailed analysis on:
  • Sources, cultivation, harvesting, processing and transporting
  • Varieties, nutritional properties, pests and diseases, environmental and social impacts
  • Production, consumption, exports, imports, trade agreements and disputes
  • Factors affecting supply and demand, historical prices, and price outlook
  • Market structure, public and private standards, and niche markets
  • Useful links on statistics, international organizations and associations, latest news and partners
