ECOSOC elects 13 members of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development

On 26 April 2012, the Economic and Social Council elected 13 member States for a four-year term on the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), beginning on 1 January 2013.

Member States elected on 26 April 2012:

Austria
Brazil
Cameroon
Central African Republic
Finland
Japan
Liberia
Mexico
Nigeria
Portugal
Russian Federation
Sri Lanka
Zambia

The Council postponed the election of seven other members of the CSTD as follows:

Two members from Asia-Pacific States
One member from Eastern European States
Two members from Latin American and Caribbean States
Two members from Western European and other States
