ECOSOC elects 13 members of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development

On 26 April 2012, the Economic and Social Council elected  13 member States for a four-year term on the Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD), beginning on 1 January 2013.


Member States elected on 26 April 2012:
  • Austria
  • Brazil
  • Cameroon
  • Central African Republic
  • Finland
  • Japan
  • Liberia
  • Mexico
  • Nigeria
  • Portugal
  • Russian Federation
  • Sri Lanka
  • Zambia
 
The Council postponed the election of seven other members of the CSTD as follows:
  • Two members from Asia-Pacific States
  • One member from Eastern European States
  • Two members from Latin American and Caribbean States
  • Two members from Western European and other States
