The Training Course for Judges and prosecutors falls within UNCTAD's framework of institutional capacity building for effective competition law and policy enforcement.

It is offered to members of the legal profession and the bench who may not have the opportunity of dealing with competition cases. As a high degree of sophistication is needed in the enforcement of competition law in the context of globalization and changing markets, the training is also offered to to upgrade skills of judges and prosecutors in effectively adjudicating competition cases.

The principal objective of the training course is to familiarize Judges and Prosecutors with the relevant concepts that underpin Ethiopian Competition law and how this relates with the legal approach to enforcing competition policy in order to promote smooth and effective enforcement of the legislation in line with the overall economic framework of Ethiopia.

The training will be conducted by an Independent Competition Consultant and experts from UNCTAD.
