Module 1: International Standards and Recommendations for Trade Facilitation

​This will be the first event in Nigeria of the UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for National Trade Facilitation Committees organized within the framework of the “Transparent Trade Procedures in the region of the Economic Community of West African” project. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), represented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zumammenarbeit (GIZ).

The event will address the members of the Trade Facilitation Committee of Nigeria. The objectives are to:
- Deliver Module 1 of UNCTAD's Empowerment Programme for members of Nigeria’s National Trade Facilitation Committee (NTFC);
- Increase Nigeria NTFC members' understanding on trade facilitation benefits and impact on development as well as its implications for global supply chain management;
- Improve Nigeria NTFC members' knowledge on international trade facilitation standards and the legal framework, including UN/CEFACT Recommendations and other UNECE tools, WCO Revised Kyoto Convention, and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement.
