​The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) invited UNCTAD to participate at the Event «The Russian Competition Week», which will take place in Veliky Novgorod on September 19-21, 2017.

The agenda of the Russian Competition Week will include sessions of International Working Groups on research of competition issues in the ICT sector, in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as on global food value chains..
Within the framework of the Russian Competition Week, the International Round Table on Combating Cartels will be organized, at which participants once again will be able not only discuss how to combat agreements restricting competition, but also conduct investigation of hypothetic cartel case in an interesting game format. UNCTAD has been requested to participate in this session by presenting the topic "International Experience in Fighting Cartels" and be part of the hypothetical case.

Traditionally, a key moment of the Russian Competition Week’s agenda will be the Plenary Session the main topic of which will be “Competition policy in the digital era”. UNCTAD will present a presentation on "cross-border collusion of Computers?: Challenges for Younger and Smaller Competition Authorities."
 
Finally, the Head of the Competition and Consumer Policies Branch, Ms. Teresa Moreira will take part at the Plenary Session  of the Conference on 20 September 2017.
