Stakeholders from the date palm sector participated in a capacity building workshop for date palm farmers, processors, and exporters 19–21 March 2018 at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in Muscat, Oman.
The workshop was jointly sponsored by the SQU's College of Agriculture and Marine Science (CAMS) and UNCTAD. Workshop discussions focused on practical aspects of date farming, processing, quality control, marketing, packaging and export. Participants also took stock of progress made to advance actions adopted by national stakeholders in the Oman National Green Export Review in May 2017.
Following two days of presentations and discussions, participants made a technical visit to Mr. Khalaf Al Masroori's Zabadiya Date Farm in Dakhliyah, near Nizwa, Oman.
