As the need for knowledge-based alternatives to finance-led development strategies becomes more evident, UNCTAD provides strategic advice on science, technology and innovation (STI) policy to developing countries, among others, through national STI Policy Reviews.
On the basis of the experience gained by UNCTAD's Division on Technology and Logistics through its technical cooperation programme on STI, this event will discuss the design and implementation of national STI policies and present some conclusions regarding lessons learnt and good practices to ensure increased effectiveness in the design and implementation of STI policies in developing countries.
