Briefing for LDCs delegates on the post-Bali WTO Ministerial process

UNCTAD organized a Brief Meeting with the cooperation of HRLLS and LDCs co-ordinators in NYC and Geneva, focusing on the post-Bali phase and the issues at stake.

The main objectives of the UNCTAD Meeting in New York are to discuss and brainstorm on the following topics:

  • Presentation of the Duty-Free Quota-Free (DFQF) and Rules of Origin

  • Challenges and opportunities in trade facilitation

  • The cotton issue

The final outcome of the meeting will also assist UNCTAD and LDCs to identify future areas of activities and studies to be undertaken and bring forward the focus on the other issues that may be relevant in dynamic LDC agenda like trade facilitation and what are the overall prospects of an LDC package in Bali and beyond.
