The objective of this advocacy workshop is to discuss the role of competition and consumer protection policies in the economic development of Ethiopia. The workshop is organized by UNCTAD in cooperation with the Trade Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (TCCPA) of Ethiopia. The target audience includes relevant ministries and sector regulators, the judiciary, business community, consumer organizations and the media in Ethiopia.

Competition advocacy is a vital element of competition enforcement and is the prime vehicle in promoting a competition culture. This workshop will inform the participants on the benefits of competition law enforcement and provide visibility to and enhance the credibility of TCCPA in the eyes of business, consumers and other regulatory agencies.
