The objective of this advocacy workshop is to discuss the role of competition and consumer protection policies in the economic development of Ethiopia. Competition law enforcement is an essential tool to ensure that Ethiopians benefit from trade liberalization. Consumer protection is complementary to competition law and policy in enhancing consumer welfare. The workshop is organized by UNCTAD in cooperation with the Trade Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (TCCPA) of Ethiopia. The target audience includes relevant ministries and sector regulators, the judiciary, business community, consumer organizations and the media in Ethiopia.
