UNCTAD will focus on sustainable fisheries exports for Ecuador as part of their National Green Export Review.
UNCTAD and the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Ecuador are organising the second workshop on Ecuador's National Green Export Review (NGER). The workshop will take place the 23 of February in Manta, Ecuador the main fisheries port of the country.
The workshop will present the findings of the joint UNCTAD-Ecuador Green Export Review, with a focus on sustainable fisheries including species such tuna, hake, bream and shrimp.
The workshop will also discuss and validate a National Green Export Action Plan for sustainable fisheries.
Participants:
All relevant stakeholders, including government and quality agencies, industrial producers as well as small scale and artisanal fisheries, environmental groups, scientists and academics will participate in the validation process.
Intended Outcome:
It is expected that, once this national action is adopted, it will become part of Ecuador's export policies.
