Official presentation of the STIP review of Thailand

​UNCTAD's science, technology and innovation policy (STIP) review of Thailand will be officially presented in Bangkok by Ms. Anne Miroux, Director, Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD, and H.E. Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Science and Technology of Thailand, who will provide his considerations on the report.

The presentation of the review will offer the opportunity to discuss the implementation of the recommendations, and to explore what may be some key priority areas for action.

Four distinct panels will discuss priority actions to:

- Enhance STI governance and management.
- Stimulate innovation efforts.
- Upgrade the education system to provide the STI skills needed in the economy.
- Promote agricultural innovation for small-scale farming

Over 100 national stakeholders including high-level government officials from various ministries, heads of universities and public research agencies, and business leaders are expected to participate.

UNCTAD's STIP Review considers the effectiveness of Thailand's national system of innovation and sets out nine "strategic thrusts" with detailed actions for consideration by the Government of Thailand.

UNCTAD conducted the analysis in collaboration with the Thailand's National Science, Technology and Innovation Policy Office following a request by the Government of Thailand.
