Key Issues

UNCTAD will organize a plenary panel on Tuesday, 11 January, from 10:00-13:00 hrs., on "Special Challenges Facing SIDS in Trade and Economic Development", to take place within the general segment of the international meeting in Mauritius, from 10-14 January 2005.

This panel will be chaired by the Hon. J. Cuttaree, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Regional Cooperation of Mauritius. Five panellists - from the main SIDS regions as well as the World Trade Organization and the FAO - will discuss the importance of intensifying efforts toward a more differentiated and favourable treatment of SIDS by their development partners in the area of international trade.
