A second resumed session of the Working Party on the Medium-term Plan and the Programme Budget will be held on 15 May 2002 at 3 p.m. in Room XXVI at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.
At the first resumed session, the Working Party mandated its Chairman to continue informal consultations in order to reach an agreement on the financing of experts from developing countries and countries with economies in transition in UNCTAD’s intergovernmental machinery in the context of the preparation of the Mid-term Review and to report back to the Working Party at its second resumed thirty-eighth session. The Chairman of the Working Party will make an oral report on this issue.
Members of the Working Party who did not participate in the first part of the session or in the first resumed session held from 17 to 18 January but wish to participate in this second resumed session are requested to submit to the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by 8 May 2002 the names of their representatives, alternate representatives and advisers who will participate in the session.
Other States members of UNCTAD, United Nations bodies, specialized agencies and other intergovernmental bodies who did not participate in the first part of the session or in the first resumed session held from 17 to 18 January but wish to participate in this second resumed session as observers are also requested to inform the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by 8 May 2002 of the names of their representatives.
