The first part of the fortieth session of the Working Party on the Medium-term Plan and the Programme Budget will be held from 13 to 17 January 2003 and will convene at 10 a.m. on Monday, 13 January 2003, at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.

The provisional agenda for the session, together with the secretariat´s annotations thereto, is being circulated under the symbol TD/B/WP/158.

Members of the Working Party (see list attached) are requested to submit to the Secretary?General of UNCTAD by 6 January 2003 the names of their representatives who will participate in the session. Other States members of UNCTAD, United Nations bodies and programmes, specialized agencies and other intergovernmental bodies, who may wish to participate in the session as observers, are also requested to inform the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by the same date of the names of their representatives.
