Key Issues



The twentieth special session of the Trade and Development Board will open at 10. a.m. on Monday, 27 January 2003, in Room XXVI at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.

The purpose of the session will be to discuss "Financing the participation of experts from developing countries and countries with economies in transition in UNCTAD´s expert meetings". This matter is being referred to the Board in accordance with the Board´s decision at its nineteenth special session whereby, if a solution to financing of experts was not reached in the Working Party, a special session of the Board would be held to resolve the matter.

The annotated provisional agenda will be circulated in document TD/B(S-XX)/1.


Members of the Board are requested to submit to the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by Monday, 20 January 2003, the credentials of their representatives who will participate in the session.

Other States members of UNCTAD, United Nations bodies and programmes, specialized agencies and other intergovernmental bodies, who may wish to participate in the session as observers, are also requested to inform the Secretary-General of UNCTAD by the same date of the names of their representatives.
