Notification

The Meeting of Governmental Experts convened to advance the negotiations concerning the draft Transit Traffic Framework Agreement (TTFA) between the Governments of the People´s Republic of China, Mongolia and the Russian Federation will be held in Geneva from 13 to 17 December 2004. The decision to hold the Meeting was taken at the Fifth Negotiating Meeting concerning the draft Transit Traffic Framework Agreement (TTFA) between the Governments of the People´s Republic of China, Mongolia and the Russian Federation, held in Qingdao, China, from 14 to 15 January 2004.

The draft Transit Traffic Framework Agreement, which is contained in document UNCTAD/LDC/Misc.47/Add.5, reflects progress made in earlier negotiating meetings. The Meeting will also have before it the report of the Fifth Negotiating Meeting, which is contained in document UNCTAD/LDC/MISC/2004/2.

Since written proposals submitted during the negotiations can only be issued in English, it would be desirable for delegations to include representatives who can work on the basis of English texts.

The names, official titles and addresses of delegates should be sent to Mr. Günter Fischer, UNCTAD secretariat, Special Programme for Least Developed, Landlocked and Island Developing Countries, Palais des Nations, CH-1211 Geneva 10,  fax: +41(0)22 917 0046,  phone: +41 (0)22 917 5901,  e-mail: gunter.fischer@unctad.org.
