Key Issues

The workshop will focus on environmental requirements, market access and export competitiveness for horticultural products from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam. The workshop will discuss country-case studies and exchange national experience on (i) effectiveness on information gathering and dissemination on environmental and health requirements in key target markets; (ii) pro-active policies on facilitating adjustment to environmental/health requirements, and (iii) regional cooperation or initiatives on both issues, if appropriate. The workshop targets representatives of the private sector, along with government officials at the ministries of commerce and environment from each of the beneficiary six countries. The meeting will also be attended by representatives of the European Commission, UN-ESCAP, UNEP, and EurepGap.
