UNCTAD takes chair of UN group on information society
At a meeting convened today during the WSIS Forum 2012 in Geneva, UNCTAD took over the role as Chair of the
United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS).

Meeting on enhanced cooperation on 18 May 2012
Pursuant to General Assembly resolution (A/RES/66/184), the CSTD will hold an open, interactive meeting on enhanced cooperation on public policy issues pertaining to the Internet on 18 May 2012, in Geneva, Switzerland.

ECOSOC takes note of LDC-IV and extends appreciation for related Turkish initiatives
Upon recommendation of CSTD-14, the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) took note of the outcome of the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-IV) held in Istanbul in May 2011, and extended its appreciation to the Turkish Government for its initiative to set up an International Science, Technology, and Innovation Center.
