The Chair of the “Working Group to examine the mandate of WSIS regarding enhanced cooperation as contained in the Tunis Agenda (Working Group on Enhanced Cooperation - WGEC)”, Mr. Peter Major, has announced the draft provisional agenda of the first meeting of WGEC.
Dear Members of the CSTD and WGEC,
The WGEC has been established by the Chair of the CSTD, pursuant to Resolution 67/195 adopted by the General Assembly in December 2012. WGEC consists of twenty-two member states and respectively five representatives from the private sector, civil society, technical and academic communities, and intergovernmental and international organizations.
The first meeting of WGEC will convene on 30-31 May 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting will take place in Salle A of the Conference Center Varembé, 9-11 Rue de Varembé, Geneva, on 30 May 2013 (from 2 p.m. onwards) and 31 May 2013 (full day). A draft provisional agenda of the first meeting, as well as my opening presentation, are attached.
