Civil society accreditation to UNCTAD 14 is open

Civil Society Organizations interested in contributing to the UNCTAD 14 preparatory hearings, the Civil Society Forum, and the public meetings and debates at UNCTAD 14 are may now apply for accreditation.

The application process depends on an organization's status with UNCTAD.

  1. Organizations that have observer status with UNCTAD

    These organizations are requested to send an official letter expressing their interest to attend UNCTAD 14 and designating their representatives for the preparatory meetings and the Conference. The letter should be on official letterhead and signed by the Head of the organization.

  2. Organizations that WERE previously accredited to UNCTAD 13 (Doha, Qatar, 2012)

    These organizations are required to apply for accreditation to UNCTAD XIV by completing the Application Form (also available in French and Spanish).

  3. Organizations that were NOT accredited to UNCTAD 13 (Doha, Qatar, 2012)

    These organizations are required to apply for accreditation by completing the Application Form (also available in French and Spanish) and sending it with the required supporting documentation.

    Requests for accreditation will be submitted to the member States for their consideration and approval. Decisions regarding accreditation to the Conference and its preparatory meetings will be communicated directly to the organizations concerned.

 

UNCTAD 14 Preparatory hearings

The Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee for UNCTAD 14 will hold two hearings with civil society organizations in Geneva prior to the Conference to provide them the opportunity to contribute to the preparatory process and comment on the pre-conference negotiating text.

 

Civil Society Forum at UNCTAD 14

A Civil Society Forum will be organized as part of the official programme of UNCTAD 14.

The Forum will start before and run in parallel to the Conference. It will provide an opportunity for participating civil society organizations to discuss and formulate their views on the issues related to the Conference agenda.

The Civil Society Declaration will be delivered to the opening plenary of UNCTAD 14.
