In his message to the Geneva Press Club, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi, Secretary-General UNCTAD, said that implementation of the new sustainable development agenda has been slow to start and stressed that engagement must be hastened if we are to keep the promises made in New York in 2015.

The new sustainable development agenda has been adopted to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals has a specific target and should be achieved before 2030.
With the support of the International Geneva Bureau of the State of Geneva, the Geneva Press Club launched a cycle of meetings intended primarily for Swiss and international media as well as for International Geneva. The meetings aim to provide journalists with information and reflection on topics related to news in the context of International Geneva.
