Bangladesh Prime Minister to attend UNCTAD XIII

Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has confirmed her attendance at UNCTAD XIII in Doha.



Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, has confirmed her attendance at UNCTAD XIII in Doha.

In a letter to UNCTAD Secretary-General Supachai Panitchpakdi, the Prime Minister indicated that she would participate in the World Investment Forum (WIF) and the special event on Women in Development, as well as deliver a statement at the opening ceremonies of the conference on 21 April 2012.

Sheikh Hasina expressed the conviction that the events at UNCTAD XIII "are important in the context of our globalized world, and participation would enable exchange of views, information and experiences, thereby benefiting all".

UNCTAD Secretary-General will visit Dhaka, Bangladesh from 29 February - 1 March 2012 to attend the first World Marketing Summit, co-hosted by Dr. Dipu Moni, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
