Training Seminar for port managers of the of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille

Twenty-one senior port managers from the French-speaking network of the UNCTAD/TrainForTrade Port Training Programme attended modules 5-8 of the "Modern Port Management" course.

An opening ceremony took place at the "Villa Méditerranée" on Monday, 3 June 2013.

The training seminar was held at the Port Training Center of the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille (GPMM) from 4 to 14 June 2013. Participants from Benin, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Senegal and Togo were able to update their knowledge of the modules.

Port representatives of the Comoros, Haiti and Seychelles also participated in the seminar and examined the possibility of becoming a member in the network.

Port experts from Togo, Guinea, Cameroon and representatives from the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille and Nantes Saint-Nazaire co-delivered the training.

Each participant received the UNCTAD port certificate at the end of the seminar.

The closing ceremony was chaired by Mr. Jean-Claude Terrier, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the GPMM.
