​The 15th session of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) convened in Geneva from 21 to 25 May 2012, recommended to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for adoption, two draft resolutions, on Science and Technology for Development, and on the follow-up to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

At the 21-25 May session, ministerial and other participants, including a Nobel laureate, will seek new ways to harness science and technology to address development challenges, and review the progress made in the implementation of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) outcomes.​
