Tony Tujan of IBON International, Philippines, to discuss trade and investment rules at UNCTAD Public Symposium
20 June 2013
“An alternative investment strategy must translate into a concrete set of policies that give special attention to domestic resource mobilization, particularly to innovative ways of generating domestic revenue to meet public investment needs and to promote the growth of a domestic industrial base.” - Tony Tujan

Antonio (Tony) Tujan will take part in the debate addressing Trade and Investment Rules for Inclusive and Sustainable Development, on the second day of the Symposium (25 June).

An alternative investment strategy must translate into a concrete set of policies that give special attention to domestic resource mobilization, particularly to innovative ways of generating domestic revenue to meet public investment needs and to promote the growth of a domestic industrial base. For example, effective levies for natural resources and promotion of export trade, combined with effective governance and transparency, can ensure that both foreign and domestic corporations contribute to sustainable domestic revenue generation as well as to mitigation of environmental degradation from natural resources exploitation.   Tony Tujan
