- Greater attention needed to farming sector, experts tell commodities meeting
High prices for basic farm goods and industrial raw materials, with the complex effects that these cause on the economies of numerous poor countries, are not expected to decline any time soon, the Global Commodities Forum has been told.

- Global Commodities Forum to ponder how to turn Farm goods, raw materials into higher living standards
Experts will gather on 18 and 19 March at the UNCTAD Global Commodities Forum 2013 to review what happened, and to discuss how the commodities boom can be harvested to yield better benefits for the poor as well as more durable, broad-based economic growth for developing countries.

- Special Session: Contribution of the energy sector to economic growth and development
The 2013 Global Commodities Forum will focus on the extractive sector with a special session on 19 March on how the energy sector is contributing to poverty reduction in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
