09 janv. 2013 - Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) opens
Manuel Pulgar Vidal, Peru's Minister of the Environment, gave the keynote address at the three-day CSTD meeting, which is focusing on sustainable cities and on broadband internet.
18 juin 2012 - UNCTAD helps to highlight ICTs as key drivers for sustainable future at Rio+20
In the run up to the Rio+20 UN sustainable development summit, the United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS), which is currently chaired by UNCTAD, organized a side-event on "ICTs: The foundation of our sustainable future" at the RioCentro in Rio de Janeiro on 17 June to focus attention on the catalytic role of ICTs in meeting development goals.​

​The 15th session of the UN Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) convened in Geneva from 21 to 25 May 2012, recommended to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for adoption, two draft resolutions, on Science and Technology for Development, and on the follow-up to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
