Ghana eTrade Readiness Assessment (eT Ready): National multi-stakeholder consultations

15 - 17 March 2023
Accra
, Ghana

The Ministry of Trade, and Industry Ghana (MOTI), with the support of UNCTAD is organizing a national multi-stakeholder workshop in the context of the ongoing Ghana eTrade Readiness Assessment.

The workshop will bring together policymakers and regulators, as well as representatives of the private sector, civil society, the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO) and development partners to discuss and share information on the challenges holding back e-commerce and explore ideas and opportunities for its advancement in Ghana.

The Ghana eT Ready confirms the strong interest by countries in the region to leverage the benefits of e-commerce and the digital economy for development as it follows 8 other eT Readies conducted by UNCTAD in the region (for Senegal, Togo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Benin, Niger, Côte d’Ivoire and Liberia), a regional eT Ready conducted for ECOWAS published in 2022 and the ongoing development of a regional ECOWAS E-commerce Strategy.

The Ghana eTrade Readiness Assessment project is delivered through the UNCTAD E-commerce and Digital Economy (ECDE) Programme and is supported with funding from Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
